The Head Fashion designer is Anissa Mpungwe, founder of Anissa Mpungwe Atelier (previously known as Loin Cloth and Ashes) was born in Tanzania. The brand has showcased at the SA Fashion Week, a premier South African fashion show. Additionally, this luxury African fashion house has showcased at various other fashion weeks, including the following: New York Fashion Week (NYFW), a top fashion week in the world, and Mozambique Fashion Week (MFW). Also, Anissa launched their Resort 2024 Collection at the Portugal Fashion Week (PFW), a prestigious fashion show in Europe.

Among her prominent past and present clients are Solange Knowles when she graced her designs for the Elle Magazine South Africa cover. As well as stars like Anele Mdoda, Bridget Masinga, Lira, Simphiwe Dana, Amel Larrieux, Sheron Smith, Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon. Anissa is between her Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam studios and solely produces in Africa.
